My birthday is coming up very soon on the 10TH OF APRIL... Yes, that's the10th of April (just to clarify to all my friends that still, think I'm born in another month, even though we have known each other for donkey years lol)!
I've never been the type of person to ask for gifts as I am always sooo grateful for anything I receive. But for some reason, this year I feel like being a little cheeky and trying my luck! There is just so much I have my eye on and if you don't ask well...You don't get.
I doubt I'll even get one of these gifts but hey as they say... "A girl can dream" :) lol *fingers crossed*

*HINT: A larger sized the number in the image indicates a higher importance than a smaller sized number tag* - I'm really cheeky ain't I? lol

What is/was on your b'day wishlist?

The sun was smiling away again so I set off to lunch in London with some close friends.
I already knew that my look today would be all blued out and I'm trying to shop less and create new looks from the items I alredy have so I was quite thrilled at what I pulled together.
I've always been a 'pro high-waisted bottoms'. I just adore them too much, whether it's skirts or trousers, so incorporated that into my outfit.
Throw in a crop top with a collared shirt underneath and an over-sized boyfriend blazer to make the whole look pop.
Add some statement accessory pieces an over-sized clutch and your ready to go.

Looks like the catwalks went ab-crazy this spring and as you all know from an older post featuring my high waisted midi skirt, I am a big fan of the 'exposed mid-riff'! This is a trend I know I will be working into my wardrobe again this summer.
I love how it has come back into fashion providing tasteful femininity instead of being 'OTT'.
As say "The key is to keep the belly button under wraps, exposing just a tasteful flash of skin below the bandeau"
...Beautifully put!
There is a risk with this trend here though, as there is a thin line between looking fashionable and looking like your off to the beach (lol). To avoid this, make sure to style your cropped top with a bottom piece that is high waisted and perhaps sling over a tailored blazer to add a smart edge to your look.

Abs-olutely Fabulous

In Awe of Pastel
Yesterday was such a beautiful day in London. I have come down from my university to see my family and run a few errands this weekend... Basically...
I went for a meeting with one of the top directors at TRADE DOUBLER (yes, Trade Doubler) to interview her for my dissertation research topic!
They are a top digital marketing performance based agency. The interview was very useful for my study & I made so many notes!
You are probably wondering where this all came from... From me taking action and making the first step. I believe that in order for you to get all the things you want in life you must work hard. Luckily, due to my efforts I was able to meet the team which lead to them interviewing ME... for a 'you know what'!
I can not wait to graduate and start all the things I have planned for summer.
Anyways, enough chatter about university...
Whilst prancing around sunny central London yesterday I was completely inspired by the colours I saw around me.
Indeed, the weather is warming up and so are all the colours for fashion this spring and summer. I am in love with pastel colours and floral print this season and have been inspired by a few pieces which I put together above to show you guys! (These are all current pieces still available in stores/online)
Warm up your closet with some tropical colours this season, happy shopping!

An ode to spring! I'm so happy you have finally arrived, we must catch up :)

The sun came out to play today which made me so happy since I knew my day would consist of one thing, writing my dissertation in the library!
The day so far has been very productive and it has me looking forward to the summer and all the exciting plans I've made!
My friend took these pictures of my outfit for me, I wanted a casual outfit with a pop of colour so opted for my bright mustard midi skirt with a jumper from Topshop and my studded loafers.
I was finally able to play around with my vintage handbag I bought last week which I thought went really well with the outfit. But, I ended up leaving it at uni because... well, it's a little too much for uni lol!
I stuffed my navy Longchamp le pliage handbag with books, grabbed my Knomo London laptop bag and made a dash to the library.

This is what I wore to the 'Rita's Vintage Wardrobe' fashion show/vintage sale I attended last week Friday. I had such a great time and as I mentioned in my previous post, I found a really good vintage bargain, my Versace hand bag which made my day! I can't wait to style and wear on an evening out one day.

It was pretty cold out & I thought it would be a good idea to add a vintage touch to my outfit but still keep warm. I absolutely love the striking colour of this jumper and I totally forgot I had it! *Note to self* I must rummage through my closet and find what other goodies are hiding away some day lol!
Collars are in, so I decided to layer up with a cream sheer blouse underneath to 'modernise' (my new word) to look. Paired with some Topshop Baxter denims for a more casual look and I was ready to go.

Jumper - I purchased it a while ago from the 'Peekaboo Vintage' concession at Topshop in Oxford Street.
Cream Sheer Blouse - Miss Selfridge
Jeans - Topshop (Baxter)
Studded Loafers - Topshop
Studded Cuff - ASOS
Watch - Argos
YSL Arty Lookalike Ring - Romwe
 Necklace - Warehouse
Belt - Primark

Check out these different fashionable ways to make an old jumper pop by simply wearing a blouse with a  collar underneath or attaching one of your own:

Which is collar style your favourite? Let me know!

I had such a great day helping out at the fashion show & vintage sale called 'Ritas Vintage Wardrobe' held at Bournemouth University last week.
The event was named after Rita Hayworth - a glamorous 1940's actress and style icon, listed as one of the 'greatest stars of all time'

I arrived and Rita's Vintage Wardrobe organisers had already set up and ready to go accompanied by vintage 60's music to help the mood. I was surrounded by a sea of nostalgic clothes, stylish handbags and silk scarves. Every vintage lovers dream. There was also a stylish vintage photo booth and refreshments (Image 1&2)

Cake, cake, cake! We all love cake. There were cute little cupcakes freshly baked that filled the room with a luscious smell (Image 3)

All funds for the event went to the Salvation Army charity based in Winton, Bournemouth and it was lovely to see the ladies from the charity also at the event. I was able to also meet some fellow fashion bloggers and photographers which was very inspiring. It's always nice to see others just as passionate as you. (Image 4)

Hot find of the day! This vintage, quilted, navy blue Versace-esque handbag for £8! I was smiling ear to ear when I found this baby. My advice when going to a vintage store is to take your time, there is always a diamond hiding away (Image 5)

Ethnic prints and style have never failed to inspire various high fashion and couture collections year after year. Remember Chanel's beautiful 2012 Metiers D'art Collection inspired by the beautiful of Indian attire?

Chanel Metiers D'art Collection '12

Karl Lagerfeld took the catwalks by storm with diamond encrusted bindis and heavily detailed garlands and halls, like he said 'fantasy is better than reality' and indeed it is.

This year, several S/S collections have been inspired by African prints, patterns and exotic materials from accessories to clothing and handbags. It's all about super luxe hides and tribal materials this summer 2012.
